Promoting Early Detection of Cancer among Communities in Ejigbo and Ikotun-Igando

 

Women’s Rights and Health Project WRAHP with support from Aspire Coronation Trust Fund (ACTS FOUNDATION) implemented a Project titled, Promoting Early Detection of Cancer among Communities in Ejigbo and Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) Of Lagos State. The Intervention aimed at increasing awareness and promoting early detection of Breast cancer, cervical cancer and prostate cancer among 1000 vulnerable community members through the conduction of cancer education and screening workshops.

The project sustained partnership with Ejigbo LCDA, Ijegun community and Igando Ikotun LCDA, as well as collaborated with Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and conducted 10 Cancer Education and Screening workshops which directly reached over 1300 community members with preventive cancer education and screening against breast, cervical and prostate cancer.
