WRAHP was actively involved in the Global Fund Community Systems Strengthening (CSS) project in Lagos State, coordinated by Association for Reproductive & Family Health (ARFH) and Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition in Nigeria (ACOMIN) as its Principal and Sub-Recipients respectively.
Women’s Rights and Health Project (WRAHP) was one of the 107 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Nigeria engaged to implement the CSS activities within Oshodi-Isolo LGA. WRAHP is engaged to work with other Community Agents to mobilize community members, especially pregnant women for the uptake HCT and make referrals Isolo General Hospital. During this project, WRAHP mobilized 578 community members from Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area in Lagos. The individuals have equally assessed HCT service at Isolo General Hospital.
In this regard ARFH engaged Women’s Right and Health Project (WRAHP) to serve as Sub- recipients to work in Oshodi/Isolo LGA of Lagos State.
In Oshodi/Isolo LGA, WRAHP successfully implemented the project as stipulated in MOU within the year and achieved the following:
a. Conducted advocacy to key stakeholders in the LGAs including the health facilities
b. Conducted community sensitization and mobilization to increase HIV education, literacy and health seeking behavior change for 10252 community members
c. Conducted community Testing to increase ART and PMTCT uptake for 3088 pregnant women
d. Escorted positive 51 clients to GF supported facilities for further investigation and ART enrolment
e. Follow-up on 50 positive clients to ensure enrolment on ART/PMTCT and report enrolled client unique ID number to ARFH
